Austria

Rations in Austria:

Mainly there are three different types of basic feeding in Austria. Either you only feed hay, for example when you produce cheese, or you mix hay and grass silage. You also can add maize silage to this mixture.

When you only feed hay you have to give the cows more concentrates in addition. When you feed hay, grass silage and maize silage you add less concentrate. But of course the amount of concentrate to feed depends on the quality of the basic food, on the weight and the breed and milk performance of the cow.
