Austria and Greece 2007:
Production and Marketing of typical products of a region

Regional products get more important every day. Especially for those countries who have a lot of tourism, like Greece and Austria, it is important to have high quality products and an adequate way of marketing. But how can you ensure high quality? And what kind of strategies are used for marketing? This were only two of many questions the Greek and Austrian students had to find solutions for during their cooperation.

There are several traditional products in Greece, but we focused on the most popular ones: Feta (sheep cheese) and Olive oil. One group also worked on some other typical products (wine and tomatoes) we saw during our excursions. In total we had five different groups and each group had its own topic to concentrate on:

  1. Production of olive oil
  2. Marketing of olive oil
  3. Production of Feta
  4. Marketing of Feta
  5. Other products and general stuff (diary,...)

Under the following links you will find the results of each group:

The students also made a diary of their stay in Greece. Have a look at it to find out more about the social aspect of our project and how a NASEK-exchange takes place in reality:

Before and during our visit in Greece, students prepared different presentations about typical products from our host country (final presentations of the results of this exchange) and also from Austria. There is also a small presentation of our freetime-activities with a lot of nice pictures.

Together the Greek and Austrian students they made a very nice dictionary about agricultural words they used during project time. You will find a complete English-German-Greek (traditional letters)- Greek (latin letters)-translation of basic vocabulary to download.
