Ventilation, water and foodsupply

The following three topics are an important part for the life quality of cows, but also for their performance and health. In a proper environment, which is similar to their former natural habitat, cows have a chance to show natural behaviour and that is important for their well beeing and therefore an improvement  for animal welfare, too.

1) Ventilation
A good ventilation system has two big advantages. There is always enough fresh air in a stable and due to this the pollution with ammoniak and the risk of infection diseases are lower, which is very important for the health of the cows. The other point is that with a good ventilation the climate is better for cows. Since cows prefer colder temperatures, their performance and comfort especially in summer will be better.

2) Water supply
Cows, and especially cows with a high milk production, need to drink a lot of water. Therefore it is important to provide water with a good quality in a way that cows like to drink. That means drinking should be easy and comfortable, without stress and always possible. Another important aspect is the hygiene, which is also very important for cows' health.

3) Food supply
The amount of energy that a cow needs every day for herself and for calf inside her and milkproduction is very high. That´s why it is important to have a good diet. But even more important for the cow is, that she has free access to the fodder during the whole day and that the construction does not cause her no fear, stress or pain. If it is comfortable for the cow to eat, her wellbeing and the intake of fodder increases and therefore also her performance.
