Adjustable fences are a solution for high labourcosts. You only have to feed the cows once every couple of days. When the cows can´t reach the feed anymore you push a button and the fence will drive towards the feed. You can make mixed rations of corn and silage. 

Advantages

-         Reduces labour 

Disadvantages

-         Costs money

-      Cows can select feed, they can chose if they want to eat corn or silage. Therefor you are not sure if the cows get enough energie or protein.

-         Reduces contact with the cows, it takes longer time until you discover diseases and etc. The cows can become wild if you don’t have regular contact with them.
