Management and Restoration Processes” (2004 – 2007), is partly
financed by the European Union (Interreg IIIC Programme).
MAIN OBJECTIVES
- to promote international and multilevel cooperation in the field
of water management
- to exchange experiences and know-how between different regions, to
pool the related practices and technology
- to increase public awareness and participation in lake management
processes
- to contribute to the objectives of the European Water Framework Directive:
a good ecological and chemical status of all surface waters in Europe.
CENTRAL OUTPUTS
- Country-specific information packages on lake
/ wetland management and restoration procedures
- Pilot water areas have been selected for all
partner regions. For these areas, best practices for water restoration
are formulated and tested in co-operation with the international project
group as well as the local stakeholders.
- Meetings and seminars on related topics will
be arranged in each partner country
- Plan for continuity
